perl mode parentheses matching weird...

configured using `configure --cflags=-O --with-menubars=lucid --with-scrollbars=motif
--with-dialogs=motif --without-tooltalk --with-pop --without-mule --without-xim'
Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
The parentheses matching fails to behave sanely in CPerl mode for at
least one valid perl construct.
Example: {${meow}
If in CPerl mode, the the rightmost brace in the above matches the
leftmost, rather than the one after brace after the $. (yes, I realize
that one more brace is needed to be valid, but it's a lot easier to
show the mismatching problem with the above)
