He actually did. You are even quoting his whole bug report in your 
message. What jumps out from his report is the large number of lisp 
shadows. He has a whole lisp directory in ~/emacs that might interfere 
with the working of efs.

Another point is that his xemacs is compiled on OSX version 10.2, but he 
is now running 10.2.1.
In any case, there is no principal problem with efs on Mac OSX, it has 
always worked for me.
