Xemacs, Vista, and package install (ftp problem) 16 years, 10 months

21.5.27 native binary for Windows (Vista Ultimate with all updates). I'm trying to use Xemacs under Vista Ultimate....everything works well except when I try to update the package index, ftp doesn't work. I get a popup dialog that says "*ftp anonymous(a)ftp.xemacs.org* seems not a pty. Kill?" I have cygwin installed on this machine, but use Windows' ftp (besides I don't find a cygwin ftp.exe in .../bin/). I've googled for the above error message and there are posts about it but I've not been able to find a clear solution. My real objective is to run gnus. When I try that an error message in the minibuffer window appears: "Cannot open load file: %s: sha1". I have Xemacs working great on an XP Pro machine, and hope it can work equally well with Vista. Hey I'd rather be using Unix or a variant, but.... Ralph Finch, P.E. As I said, I don’t know why the former syntax doesn’t work for you. Why no __attribute__ ((unused)) for g++? 16 years, 10 months

In compiler.h we have #ifndef UNUSED # if defined(__GNUC__) && !defined(__cplusplus) && !defined(__INTEL_COMPILER) # define ATTRIBUTE_UNUSED __attribute__ ((unused)) # else # define ATTRIBUTE_UNUSED # endif Why isn't this done for C++? At least for g++ 4.1.2 it works fine (and it suppresses a bunch of warnings). Ispell for Xemacs 21.1 for windows 16 years, 10 months

Hi, I have just installed Xemacs 21.1 for Windows and I have included the ispell tool package. However, for some reason the ispell programm does not work. XEmacs 2.21.28 on Fedora 7 Partially Fixes Dialog Problem [SOLVED] 16 years, 10 months
