I was just looking over the warnings from compiling with icc to see if
there was anything needing immediate attention, and found this one.
In src/objects-x.c, line 830, is this:
nameext = &xlfd[0];
which is slightly verbose since &xlfd[0] == xlfd, but is also a problem
since xlfd is never assigned a value. It is a local variable, so it
holds some junk pointer from random stack bytes, and then uses that junk
pointer on the next line:
LISP_STRING_TO_EXTERNAL (f->name, nameext, Qx_font_name_encoding);

Hi Chris,
I think TFM is actually fairly clear. C-h f replace-regexp says:
...
Third arg DELIMITED (prefix arg if interactive), if non-nil, means replace
only matches surrounded by word boundaries.
In TO-STRING, `\&' stands for whatever matched the whole of REGEXP,
and `\N' (where N is a digit) stands for
whatever what matched the Nth `\(...\)' in REGEXP.
Now granted you have to read through a couple of paragraphs to get
there, but I find the explanation clear enough. If you can think of
how to improve it, a patch would be considered.

The previous patch was actually wrong, it would only allow to complete
the first function in the debug-function-list.

[PATCH] erc-bbdb usability fix.

Hi all,
I suppose I must be one of the very few using BBDB with erc, because
by default the erc-bbdb package exhibits a veryu annoying behavior I
find hard to believe people like:
* When showing the BBDB popup, the BBDB buffer is electric which
means that it captures the keyboard "focus" and basically
prevents updates to the channel buffer.
* Specially annoying when a lot of the people in the channel are
known to you and you are joining.
The patch adds a customize option to control this behavior (I think
off is the right default, but feel free to put it as t for backwards
compatibility.)
With erc-bbdb-electric-p set to nil, the bbdb buffer is no longer
electric and it does not block progress.

cancel-debug-on-entry would fail with "wrong-type-arg listp" while
attempting completing.

hopefully the last time. I simply can't devote any time to it
anymore.

Xemacs seems to fail on the Mx uncomment-region commnd on cc-mode or c-mode:
Creating a comment with the 'Mx comment-region' command results in following
lines

But using 'Mx uncomment-region' will not eliminate the comment strings
properly.

[Bug: 21.4.19] XEmacs freezes, loading compressed files when coding-system-for read is set.

I start xemacs -no-site-file -no-init-file, execute the following
statements in the scratch buffer

When I now load any gzip-compressed file, (which should be
transparently uncompressed by crypt), XEmacs hangs, not even doing
redraws to the X11 screen.
Doing this on any bzip2-compressed file gives me the following error
message:
