In the search dialog box, if you search for an item (and it is found), click find next, and then click cancel, XEmacs crashes. The stack trace says something about unhighlighting all of the items that were highlighted as a result of the search. To the best of my knowledge, I believe that this has only happened when I have been editing Java code. The problem is very reproducable, and has happened many times. It seems to happen most frequently after I have been editing a document for a long time. To reproduce it, open a java program and edit it for a little while. Then go to Edit->Find, type in some text that appears in the document, click "Find Next", and then click cancel or click the "X". XEmacs then crashes. Here is the output that is sent to the console: Fatal error. Your files have been auto-saved. Use `M-x recover-session' to recover them. Your version of XEmacs was distributed with a PROBLEMS file that may describe your crash, and with luck a workaround. Please check it first, but do report the crash anyway. font customization in X11 versus tty 21 years, 2 months

I want to set different font colors when in X11 than when i use tty. The custom.el file doesn't seem to be able to take this kind of predicate (well, any predicate) into consideration. Is there some way to do this without just abandoning custom.el and moving all my colors into init.el underneath the appropriate predicates? 21.5.10 under MacOS X Terminal shrinks screen height 21 years, 2 months

When I run 21.5.10 under the MacOS X Terminal application, killing a buffer causes XEmacs to resize itself vertically to half the available lines in the window. The modeline moves up to halfway up the screen. Subsequent edits confirm that XEmacs does actually believe the screen size is halved, thus it's not a transient drawing bug. Resizing the Terminal window causes XEmacs to resize itself back to the full screen, but the halving of the screen size is repeatable. 21.4.12 doesn't exhibit this behavior. hi there: I used to love xemacs and I'm slightly annoyed by the fact that it's getting worse and worse. During the last two weeks it has crashed as many times using the find command - now some superfluous fancy window. Simply freezes consistently as soon as I search a second time and move the window. Redefined alarm() in signal.c 21 years, 2 months

MacOSX/Darwin has its own definition for alarm() in libSystem (MacOSX's equivalent of libc), causing a multiple symbol definition error when linking temacs. Is the alarm() in signal.c equivalent to the one in libc? If so, why is it redefined in signal.c? Perhaps it's to correct for a broken libc alarm() on some platforms? Andrew (Here's the manpage: LIBRARY Standard C Library (libc, -lc) SYNOPSIS #include <unistd.h> unsigned int alarm(unsigned int seconds); DESCRIPTION This interface is made obsolete by setitimer(2). The alarm() function sets a timer to deliver the signal SIGALRM to the calling process after the specified number of seconds. If an alarm has already been set with alarm() but has not been delivered, another call to alarm() will supersede the prior call. The request alarm(0) voids the current alarm and the signal SIGALRM will not be delivered.
