Dear Bug Team!
I often have many frames open on many different buffers. I frequently
close most or all but one of these frames. Having done this, sometimes
opening a frame on a buffer that I have looked at before, the visible
area and point are nowhere near where I left them when I closed the
last frame on the buffer. I don't expect point to change just because
I closed a frame.

Quite right! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have thus terminated the one build that hanged and started one manual build so there should soon be a new smoketest ready.
Unfortunately the script isn't safe against commands hanging. In this case cvs didn't terminate properly so the complete build hanged. I'll see what I can do about it.

autoload generation differences in Emacs and XEmacs

XEmacs 21.4.11 and Emacs 21.2.1 handle the autoload declarations for
defcustom forms differently. This was causing a problem in a recent
version of Oort Gnus (though that change has been backed out to
support XEmacs).
When generating an autoload for a defcustom form with the Emacs 21.2.1
that is installed on my box, I get a defvar form that contains the
variable, its value, and its doc-string. XEmacs 21.4.11 uses the
entire defcustom form as the autoload.
For example, the source

The problem I experienced with Oort Gnus involved a complex defcustom
form (see below) where the :type attribute was a backquote'd sexp
which contained variables---to be expanded by ,＠---that were not
autoload'ed. The autoload was generated just fine, but when it was
evaluated I'd get an error about a void variable.
Is there some rule about defcustom forms that Oort is breaking?
Should XEmacs consider moving to the Emacs way of handling the
autoload declaration of defcustom forms?
Does anyone have suggestions on better ways to handle this?

I'm running XEmacs 21.5.b10 on SuSE Linux 8.1. I have the following lines at
the end of my .Xdefaults file:
Emacs*foregroundToolBarColor: black
Emacs*backgroundToolBarColor: gray
Nevetheless, these settings have no effect and the background color of the
toolbar (version 21.5.10) is white. Is there a way to fix it or Is this a
known bug? Thanks.

Dear Bug Team!
When I list the system's processes via "M-x ps" or "M-x View-process-status",
the process list appears, but XEmacs begins to beep as soon as the mouse
pointer is moved over the non-empty region in the *ps* buffer (i.e. from a
line's last character to the left). The message in the minibuffer is: "Wrong
type argument: number-char-or-marker-p, nil".
This does not happen with 21.5.9 and 21.4.11.

Dear Bug Team!
When a command creates or kills a window in a frame, text from the window
beneath the buffer tabs overwrites the toolbar icons. recenter
restores the toolbar but erases the buffer tabs.
To reproduce, try 'split-window-vertically' followed by 'recenter'. The
first command wipes out most of the toolbar icons on my frames; the second
redraws the frames, but kills the buffer tabs. On 21.5.9 the same command
sequence does not cause this bug; however, there is a noticable flicker in the
toolbar icons when calling 'split-window-vertically' which I assume is a refresh
of that area. Also, in 21.5.9 the buffer tabs background disappears in the
left/right margins upon a 'recenter' and returns whenever the screen is split.
When recenter is called in 21.5.10, I can see the tabs being redrawn very
quickly (along with the toolbar icons) but the tabs disappear immediately.

As of now I see

for version.sh, which says:

I would expect it to be

by now, no?

Funny thing is that when I run the build scrips manually it doesn't
hang but fails later for other reasons. If you have any idea what
