i have updated my sources, built and installed xemacs, then i started
gnus
all the faces gnus uses are now almost unreadable, as gnus has come to
think that my frames have a dark background, and thus uses light,
unsaturated nuances of color... --- this is plainly wrong, as i have
had in my custom.el

i have to say that my default background, set via x resources, is
really darkish, but it's used only for the interface elements, while
the text area uses a very light pixmap (see figure n. 1)
if i remember well, i experienced before this bug, and someone (andy
or steve?) had a patch to fix it...

I have deposited the sum Eighteen Million United State
Dollars (US$18,000,000,00.) With a security company
for safe keeping. What I want you to do is to indicate

Segmentation fault while updating packages

Dear Bug Team!
I'm getting a reproducible segmentation fault while updating
packages. The fault occurs after the first package had been downloaded
and installed with the message that it is loading the auto-autoloads
file for the package just installed. The stack from gdb and the lisp
backtrace are from two different runs, but they are consistent.

Dear Bug Team!
XEmacs 21.5.8 crashes immediately when I try to run it. Previous
versions worked fine; I've been using 21.5.6. I've also been
upgrading my Red Hat system quite a bit, currently running the latest
beta. (This isn't an RPM version though, I build it from source.)
I've tried a few configure options, but nothing seems to help.
Here is the output when I run it and a gdb trace.

Ok, as discussed in xemacs-design, I've started a new package,
general-docs, which is meant for general XEmacs documentation. Some, if
not all, of the documentation now in core will be moved here piece by
piece.
There's not much in CVS ATM, except a skeleton Makefile and a couple of
dirs, but now people can start working on it.
Yep, I shortened the package name to -docs instead of -documentation,
because it looked so terribly long in pui; it would have been the
current record :)

Hello,
First: thanks for XEmacs. I think it's fabulous.
This seems like a bug to me but it might just be user error. I'm on Red
Hat Linux 7.3, XEmacs 21.4 Patch 6. Whenever I scroll the screen up or
down, the mouse jumps to the top right corner of the frame (not just the
window!). It happens whether I use the mouse or the keyboard to scroll.
I hope you can help. Thanks!

revert-without-query no longer working in 21.5.8

Apparently revert-without-query has no effect in 21.5.8.
I load a file /tmp/foo into XEmacs, then add its filename to
revert-without-query via Customize, change the file's contents on the
disk and call M-x revert-buffer afterwards. Result: The buffer doesn't
change, i.e. it doesn't reflect the file's updated contents.
Reverting with revert-without-query set to nil works fine, but I get the
query in the modeline then, of course. (Which I don't want for e.g.
viewing logfiles, etc..)
This could have been introduced in an earlier version - I can't tell
exactly as I haven't built all recent beta versions. It worked ok in
21.5.5. This is on i686-pc-linux, in case that matters.
