The South African government seems to be playing along with them. I am faced with the dilemma of moving this amount of money out of South Africa for fear of going through the same experience in future, both countries have similar political history. [Packages]: fix compile environment 22 years

For some time packages have been built with this XEmacs: xemacs -no-autoloads -batch $(PRELOADS) -l package-compile.el -- $(REQUIRES) -- which is obviously wrong given that the function of package-compile is to clear and properly set up the load path. This leads to the problem that if a preloaded library has been installed on the system, the build process will pick up the installed version, _not_ the source version. This is the reason that many Makefiles preload own-package libraries as -l ./preload-lib.el. Sometimes people also add -eval clauses to PRELOADS to get the libraries loaded from the source tree. Simply changing the definition of BOOT_XEMACS to xemacs -no-autoloads -batch -l package-compile.el -- $(REQUIRES) -- $(PRELOADS) fixes both problems. I've successfully done make World from a completely clean state with this, and in light testing the packages seem to be running correctly. Few packages needed any change at all, although I think it's probably a good idea to clean up the ugly ./ prefixes and -eval clauses in PRELOADS. It would be nice if a few people could try rebuilding their package trees and doing some of this Makefile cleanup in their favorite packages before Steve Y applies this. I don't know if there are correct. I haven't tried to run the package. I applied these to successfully build under make World with the correct use of PRELOADS and REQUIRES in package-compile.el. Hi I can start xemacs, but when I click on the toolbar "compile" the xemacs crash. Invalid geometry resource 22 years

I've been using xemacs-21.4.3 on SunOS adgsun20 5.8 Generic_108528-09 sun4u sparc and it's been working fine until now. I don't know what's changed, but now it won't run under X, it says: DISPLAY=rpppc1:0.0 xemacs -geometry 1000x1000+0+0 Initialization error: Invalid geometry resource As you can see, I tried forcing the geometry on the command line. What is the problem? How can I diagnose this?
