`int-to-char' returns a char even if arg is negative 24 years, 1 month

Hi, I am using 21.5.2 CVS (main trunk). Is the following behavior correct? (int-to-char -51) => ?\^^M If so, we should modify mule-packages/egg-its/egg.el not to use negative numbers for `int-to-char'. Because of this behavior, Egg often hangs up when I mis-type (e.g. C--) in the fence-mode. [BUG] Xemacs-21.5-b1/i686-pc-cygwin Build-Report, GNUS 24 years, 1 month

This should also go to the gnus-bugs list. Does anyone know where that is? Ran build-report. Typed C-c,C-c. The message & gnus portions did their thing and reported "send .... complete". The "*Sent message . . ." buffer now has a message-id and date stamp which must have come from the mail server, proving the connection was made. I included Cc: xemacs-beta, myself The message never gets delivered. I wind up having to save it and send via my other MUA. Not sure where to start debugging. -- David A. So do you mean to avoid using "custom" entirely, or just to not set faces/fonts with custom? I tried commenting out the lines at the end of my "custom.el" that was setting the face/font for this, which I had set earlier, then I tried adding this sample code to my "init.el". When I added it before I loaded "shell", then it failed with an unknown symbol error. When I added it after loading "shell", then it didn't fail. Unfortunately, it also didn't fix the problem. I then tried changing the line to specify "lucida" instead of "courier" (I verified the font string in "xfontsel"), saving the file and restarting. Not only did this not fix the problem, it also seemed to not change anything. After loading it, I used "apropos" to show me the value of "shell-output-face", and it still shows a font string using "courier". If you meant to avoid using "custom" entirely, would I comment out all the code in my "custom.el" and create manual "setq"s in my "init.el"? -----Original Message----- From: Stephen J. r21-5-current-beta tag is wrong, use r21-5-latest-beta instead 24 years, 1 month

The "moving tag" for betas has always been `r21-5-latest-beta'. Instead of using that, I used (and announced) `r21-5-current-beta' in my release. I now have _removed_ the erroneous `r21-5-current-beta' tag. The `r21-5-latest-beta' tag has been updated to reflect 21.5.2, the most recent beta release. If you followed my instructions to check out 21.5.2 from CVS you must do your next update using "cvs update -r r21-5-latest-beta". However, you _do_ have 21.5.2, so that will wait until you update to 21.5.3. Those who have a sticky tag or explicitly used "-r r21-5-latest-beta" should check out again, using the same tag. This will update you from 21.5.1 to 21.5.2, the latest beta. You should have the shell buffer in one window and the customize buffer in the other. Changes you make to the face in the customize buffer should be reflected immediately on activating the Set button. Use fonts you know you have versions of (eg, by using xfontsel). Note that the checkboxes activate the specification for italic, etc, but do not change their value. You need to change italic from off to on by clicking on the word "italic". In the customize window, visit your init.el file which I assume by now contains a (set-face-font 'shell-output-face ...) expression. I hope it's different from the font currently used for output in the shell buffer, or you won't see anything change. Execute it with C-x C-e. This should be reflected immediately in existing shell output in the shell buffer. Finally, do a global customization (with menu edit faces). This sholdn't have different results from the one-face customization, but I'd like to check. (Faces have complex inheritance relationships, so it's possible that changing a lot of faces at once could mess something up.)
