buffers-tab face not updated properly 23 years, 2 months

I've been playing around with the buffers-tab face - currently it's: '(buffers-tab ((t (:foreground "firebrick4" :background "gray60" :size "10" :family "helvetica" :italic t))) t) most of the time all the tab labels show up as firebrick4, but sometimes some of the tabs show up as black rather than firebrick4, as shown below -- John A. Buffer tabs flickering 23 years, 2 months

I just recently upgraded to b42 (not sure what I was running before, but it was 36+), and I've noticed a problem with the buffer tabs flickering when I move the mouse around in the XEmacs frame (or sometimes apparently just for the heck of it). I toggled display of the tabs, which disabled the flickering for that frame, but started it in one on another workspace. Now after having disabled/enabled the tabs several times, XEmacs is in a state where the tabs will only show up in one frame at a time. Behavior goes kind of like this: F1 == Frame1 F2 == Frame2 Action F1 (ws 1) F2 (ws 2) No tabs Tabs switch-buffer (F1) Tabs Tabs switch-to-ws-2 ?? No tabs switch-to-ws-1 Tabs ?? switch-to-ws-2 ?? No tabs resize-window (F2) ?? No tabs move-modeline (F2) ?? No tabs info (F2) ?? Tabs kill-this-buffer (F2) ?? Tabs switch-to-ws-1 Tabs ?? switch-to-ws-2 ?? No tabs switch-to-ws-1 Tabs ?? switch-to-ws-2 ?? No tabs switch-buffer (F2) ?? Tabs switch-to-ws-1 No tabs ?? switch-to-ws-2 ?? Tabs switch-to-ws-1 No tabs ?? switch-to-ws-2 ?? Tabs My apologies for the verbosity, but it was the best way I could figure to explain it. It seems like only one frame wants to have tabs at a time, and I can get the one that does to switch by doing a switch-buffer (or split-window). I can also get the one that doesn't to temporarily show them anyway by executing some other commands. Through all this, I'm sometimes getting the flickering behavior, and sometimes not. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Is there something I could do to try to help track down the problem?

xemacs-21.2.42 hung in redisplay (unreproducible) 23 years, 2 months

This happend with xemacs that worked for 5 hours -- gnus and a number major modes. When I started gdb, xemacs hung -- ignored not only keyboard, but also kill -15. Disappearing tab 23 years, 2 months

In XEmacs 21.2 (beta42) "Poseidon" [Lucid] (i686-pc-linux) of Tue Jan 23 2001 on diannao.ittc.ukans.edu configured using `configure '--cflags=-march=pentium -mcpu=pentiumpro -O2' --prefix=/usr/local/test --with-dialogs=athena --with-widgets=athena --with-pop --with-modules --use-union-type' Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: Pardon me if this is a known problem. In XEmacs 21.2.42 on a Linux box, if I load up a Lisp file with a few problems and bytecompile it using the "Lisp" menu, I get a small buffer at the bottom containing warnings. At that time, the tabs look like this: ======================---------------- | *Compile-Log-Show* | *Compile-Log* | ========================== That is, the tab for the buffer containing the Lisp code itself has disappeared. If I now do C-x 1, the log buffer disappears, but the tabs stay as shown above. This is repeatable. (Note that the XEmacs sending this email is NOT the one on which the problem occurred. xemacs 21.2-b42 on Alpha Linux problem 23 years, 2 months

Hi, I've just compiled xemacs 21.2-b42 from today's CVS on an Alpha Linux system, and it worked even without pdump. Great! Only there's a little problem: Each time I move the mouse in the tiny gap between the topmost buffer line and the tool bar, I get this message: Domain for this instantiator must be resolvable to a window: [autodetect :data "xterm"], #<x-frame "emacs" 0x1f5e> This is somewhat irritating, since xemacs blinks for each pixel the mouse gets moved... Could anybody give me a hint what to do?
