ok, here's another focus-related customize problem - recipe: 1. xemacs -vanilla 2. load up a few dired buffers 3. split the window, i.e. C-x 2 4. go to the other window and do M-x customize-face buffers-tab RET 5. change something (foreground color, whatever) 6. click Set at this point the buffer-tabs show "*Customize Face: ...*, so click in the non-customize window so to see the changes 7. now click Done in the customize buffer -> oops! the dired buffer, which still has the point, is killed! I realize that it might seem that now I'm arguing that the button *should* grab focus, but what I'd really expect to happen is for the customize buffer to go away, but focus, and point, remain where they were in the dired buffer. -- John A. xemacs crashes when exiting a gnuclient frame 23 years, 3 months

This bug is XEmacs specific and has been discussed on xemacs-beta before. I think PSGML is trying to bind M-C-h, but this ends up screwing up M-BS. Maybe one of our Del-BS experts could fix this? overloading of M-BS in PSGML/HTML mode 23 years, 3 months

I often use M-BS to delete a word I've just typed. The command seem to be part of the basic editing functionality (ie available in fundamental/text mode). However, PGSML seem to overload this command to do `sgml-mark-current-element'. Since the HTML mode is based on PSGML, I find it annoying to write any text in html-mode... Of course I could rebind the key or change to text-mode, but wouldn't it be nice if PSGML didn't overload basic editing keys?

Solaris and gcc 2.95.2? 23 years, 3 months

Has anyone tried building XEmacs 21.2.3[89] or later with gcc 2.95 on Solaris? This used to work but I can't do it anymore. It compiles ok but when temacs tries to dump, I get an error message from ld.so about some number being an unknown section type. (More details available if necessary. I didn't save the precise message.) If I can get some help, perhaps I can help fix this problem, if it really is a problem. I currently have to build with either gcc 2.72.x or Sun C 5.0. Ray
