thanks for the offer, but luckily I've succeeded in building a new
version of the editor God wants to see on every machine :-)
I'm not sure what really causes the problems, but after I put the
sources back to their old location and after applying your patch,
everything seems to look pretty ok for me. Do you know whether there
are known problems with either moving the sources around or having the
sources on a "mounted" drive?
I also had to remove the mule-coding dependencies from your makefile
in order to get things running, since I build with mule and the c-file
no longer seems to be part of the distribution. It's pretty dumb that
we can't simply do a make depend on a WinNT system but have to remove
files by hand - sigh. I send a patch to xemacs-patches.

Sorry for followup to my own post. Seems like the bug is in the
mswindows-get-clipboard function, which if I'm not mistaken copies the
current selection into the clipboard if there is one - and it
shouldn't do it. I can't be too sure as the problem seems to lie in
the select-msw.c file, and I do not understand the code there. In
particular, there is a new (in b15) function mswindows_own_selection
which obviously is invoked by something, but I couldn't find any
reference to it in any other sources... Can somebody who knows that
code (Andy Piper?) please take a look at it? Thanks.

XEmacs crashed during bootstrap. I had to remove some args passed to
configure from my normal builds: --gung-ho, --with-session

--with-session is now called --with-wmcommand. but you don't need to specify
it, cause it's on by default.

are no internal symbols, and I cannot get the values of the variables.

I ended up disabling ldap support in the latest 21.2 from CVS because
I couldn't figure out a way around this error:
