Odd behaviour with b39 27 years

If I startup beta 39 with vm (xemacs-21.0-b39 -f vm), select the XEmacs menubar, then switch to *scratch*, I get the following odd screen. XEmacs seems to think there should be a toolbar display on the left, but *scratch* doesn't have one. It also took away the 3d modeline for the top buffer and blanked out the lower buffer. It should look more like the following attachment which is what I get with beta 38, doing the same steps.

dragndrop & frame-x.c problems, Russian White 27 years

With my default set of configure options (illustrated by the Installation file attached below), I was unable to compile beta-39 due to the following problems with frame-x.c. However, after re-configuring with '--with-dragndrop=no' added, Russian White compiled without problems. strokes for Chinese...Results 27 years

Hey, people. I just finished writing up my report for Strokes and Chinese character recognition. I'm just about getting over 80% accuracy rates. this is really good, and I'm happy about it. also, I've written it to be completely general, so that this can work for any language in which the characters can be written one-at-a-time (i.e. English is fine, as long as you don't write in script). Anyway, you can look at my paper if you want. Unfortunately, all the recognition code is in Common Lisp, and though I believe I can port it to elisp, it simply won't be nearly fast enough. it's all in Allegro CL. for whoever's interested: http://mit.edu/cadet/www/project-paper/project-paper.html and note that I'm no longer on this (xemacs-beta) list, so if you wanna comment or ask me something, or maybe discuss where to go from here, please email me. dave
