It is getting really odd, I played around with the mail-user-agent
variable setting it to sendmail-user-agent and back to vm and now it
seems to work, ie I can send bug report, something is fundamentally
wrong in my setting.

BTW you do you guys get rid of nested citations, inserting this
[snip]? I can figure out how to do this one in gnus.
