Here's what I'm hoping you'll do:

And this is all I can do at the moment. I haven't looked at the latest
version yet in enough detail. What I can add is the set of patches
applied for 21.4.22 in Gentoo.
I know this is lame but I don't want to miss the patch train if
possible. So please bear with me. What I would like to have done is to
check the patches that does not apply whether they need to be redone
or if they are already included upstream. Now I have to settle with
just reporting the state of affairs for 21.4.22 and how they turn out
when applied to 21.4.23.
These are the patches:
xemacs-21.4.19-texi.patch
xemacs-21.4.19-db.patch
xemacs-21.4.21-vcdiff.patch
xemacs-21.4.22-large-images.patch - does not apply cleanly with 21.4.23.
xemacs-21.4.22-deprecated-ldap.patch - does not apply cleanly with 21.4.23.
xemacs-21.4.22-libpng15.patch - does not apply cleanly with 21.4.23.
xemacs-21.4.22-texinfo-5.patch
Yours
