The mail-lib's pop3.el _is_ the Gnus one. Simon synced it a while back.
No, pop3.el in mail-lib is not the same as in Gnus -- the one in
mail-lib got oodles of useful stuff not in the original pop3.el file.
Oh, I just now noticed the pop3.el shipped with Gnus is not in the
XEmacs gnus package. I guess the mail-lib pop3.el is backwards
compatible then.
