Hi,
Here comes yet another status report from the project of converting to
GPLv3 or later.
There are two lists of files below. The first list contains all files
that are in an undecided state. Please inspect: Do we need to do anything
with them. If so what?
The second list contains all files that we can leave untouched and the
reason for that. Please inspect: Are all reasons OK and correct?
Are we getting close to the were an inspection of the xemacs-gplv3
repository could be performed? With the intent that it that is OK we
could merge back to trunk and go GPLv3 or later?

Hi all,
I am maintaining XEmacs 21.4 for myself. And I have done some changes
that I do not expect to be integrated into the official stable branch.
One fix which may make it, if there ever will be another official
release of 21.4:
* Fixing emodule loading on OS X. I had to add #define HAVE_DYLD
manually to some file, and edit the command line arguments generated
by ellcc. The manual edit was because I refuse to fight autotools
anymore. Other people can do that work if required. I suppose the
command line switches I added are not the best, so I'm not going to
share that unless someone asks for it.
21.4 still compiles and works fine on OS X, though there are some
issues I haven't fixed, like the lack of sound output. I will
probably do that with an emodule if I ever do it.
So, since I am maintaining 21.4 for myself, I am offering to share
that with interested parties. I may also be in a position to offer
hosting for the XEmacs project in general. Even if that means a
frozen snapshot of everything.
Is there some interest in maintaining the project? Even if just life
support/frozen snapshots - possibly with the mailing list(s) kept
alive.
I can also be reached at Freenode's #xemacs IRC channel.

Hi all,
I have gotten to the point, with my libclang emodule, that I can
attempt to prototype code completion.
What I am wondering about, is what kind of code completion backend is
the most "appropriate"? I've already tried with pcomplete, but for
anything but shell command completions, and similar syntaxen, it's a
bit hard to bend to the task.
The emodule itself needs a lot more work to be complete, so I'm not
putting the code out there just yet. Even a partial binding will need
more work. In particular, I have not made any effort to interface
with the garbage collector yet. Other than that, I have solved all
technical problems I've come across, so most of this is now "just
work" and not hard.
I hope I can get some replies on completion backends. There seem to
be quite a lot of completion mechanisms that have accumulated over the
years. And I hope something out there is more appropriate than
pcomplete.
Have all the fun,
Johann
