Sync with recent GNU Emacs.
Also some XEmacs-specific changes; provide various compiler macros
that aren't necessarily executed on one emacs or the other,
determining it at compile time rather than run- or
load-time. Avoid decoding the entries in ispell-dictionary-alist
*every time the dictionary member* was referenced, do it once per
dictionary. Achieve this using macrolet and uninterned symbols,
compatible with 21.4.
I see bugs but no Lisp-level problems with aspell and hunspell on
my OS X machine; that is, the bugs I see are also present when I
spell-check outside of ispell. This version of the file works fine
with Persian, which the previous version didn't. Also works fine
with the European languages I speak, but they all fit in Latin-1
and so are less of a challenge.

3) Re-start XEmacs.

3) Select the packages you wish to install (there are brief
instructions at the bottom of the packages buffer).

I'm currently running 8.2.3c. I really need to clean up and submit the
patches upstream ... What I have is in the "xemacs" branch here, though:

Anyway, I added declare-function to fsf-compat quite a while ago, but
some mixup prevented it from being activated. I just pushed a patch to
fix this.

2) Tools -> Packages -> List and Install
3) Select the packages you wish to install (there are brief

I needed the attached patch to make the auctex build go through with
Texinfo 5.2. Should I submit to xemacs-patches＠ (or upstream?), or is
it something funky with my setup?

I just installed 21.4.22 via macports in lion.
I remember that there is some sort of start icon which avoids typing xemacs in a x11 terminal
Does somebody remember this?

This merge erased a lot of ChangeLog entries, and added a lot. Did we
merge an upstream ChangeLog with our package ChangeLog?
Also, some of the CVS keyword expansions disappeared again; e.g., the
$Id$ expansions in preview/preview.el, style/article.el, etc. I think
they mostly don't matter, but the expansion of $Name$ in
preview/preview.el is manipulated by Lisp code.
Also also, the build with texinfo 5.x is broken again:
