Not really. :-/
The progress-bar is broken on mac-osx and, I think, X Window in
general, but I don't know the technical details.

xemacs problem
10 years, 8 months
Gary Kerbel
I have just built xemacs on my iMac running OS X 10.9.2
with
sudo port install xemacs, and it crashes with the following errors:
Unfortunately, there is no corefile.
Perhaps I need a different execution setting to produce a corefile?
Help, please.
Thanks,
Gary Kerbel

xemacs
Fatal error (11).
Your files have been auto-saved.
Use `M-x recover-session' to recover them.
Your version of XEmacs was distributed with a PROBLEMS file that may
describe
your crash, and with luck a workaround. Please check it first, but do
report
the crash anyway. Please report this bug by invoking M-x report-emacs-bug,
or by selecting `Send Bug Report' from the Help menu. If necessary, send
ordinary email to `xemacs-beta(a)xemacs.org'. *MAKE SURE* to include the
XEmacs
configuration from M-x describe-installation, or equivalently the file
Installation in the top of the build tree.
*Please* try *hard* to obtain a C stack backtrace; without it, we are
unlikely
to be able to analyze the problem. Locate the core file produced as a
result
of this crash (often called `core' or `core.<process-id>', and located in
the directory in which you started XEmacs or your home directory), and type
gdb /opt/local/bin/xemacs core
then type `where' at the debugger prompt. No GDB on your system? You may
have DBX, or XDB, or SDB. (Ask your system administrator if you need help.)
If no core file was produced, enable them (often with `ulimit -c unlimited'
in case of future recurrance of the crash.

Old post spew (again)
10 years, 8 months
Stephen J. Turnbull
Hi,
I just went through the spam trap at Tux for the first time in about 3
weeks, so there will be a spate of mail (mostly to xemacs-beta) from
Feb 28 to Mar 14 or so. I apologize for tardiness in checking the
spamtrap. This is the worst time of the year for me in any case, this
year exacerbated by two coincidences: a complete reorganization of our
graduate programs requiring tons of English translation (by Guess
Who), and the end of a grant from the Japanese National Science
Foundation, requiring the writing of a (very long) report in Japanese.
Hopefully this will be over soon, but in the meantime, feel free to
ping me if you think mail is taking too long to appear on the lists.
(Please give it at least 4 hours because greylisting is in effect, and
although retried mail will be accepted by Tux after 15 minutes, most
MTAs wait 4 hours to retry.)
I'm working with Jerry to get the VM set up so that we can reduce or
eliminate our dependency on Tux, but it's going slowly due to my
circumstances.
Once again, sorry for the spate of mail, and the delays.
Regards,
Steve
