The initial goal is to make sure we have a good 21.4 version in the tree.
After that we might add a 21.5 version, although I expect to keep this in
package.mask[1] until this version is deemed suitable for wider
distribution.
Kind regards,
Hans
1. This means that the package won't show up unless users explicitly take
action to make it available to them.

Yup, that was it. I cloned the repository yesterday without problems.

[Bug: 21.5-b27] startup.el "borks" filepath?
18 years
robert delius royar
================================================================
Dear Bug Team!
This bug showed up yesterday with the 20061116 CVS. Compilation occurs as
normal, and temacs links. However, when temacs first loads with the command
./temacs -nd -no-packages -batch -l /Users/royar/src/xemacs/src/../lisp/update-elc.el
it aborts after loading startup.el saying that it cannot find the file listed in
preloaded-file-list immediately following startup.el.
I found out that startup was where the failure gets created by moving it in the
list. Wherever it is listed, the file immediately after cannot be loaded.
Further, I discovered that the configure option that triggers this problem is
--prefix=/Users/royar/usr/local
I can run all of the other options without that one and get a successful
compile, link, and dump. But that one does not install where I need it.

This is great -- XEmacs is one of the very few packages I install
manually on Gentoo. I would be more than happy to have it maintained!
I hope you will be maintaining a 21.5 release as well.

I am using xemacs 21.5.27 on Fedora 5.
./configure --prefix=/sw/xemacs-21.5.27 --without-debug --without-error-checking --with-xft=emacs,tabs,menubars,gauges --with-mule

There is another problem with the fonts:
If I go to the Menu bar and choose Option/Font, _all_ the font names are greyed out. Luxi Mono has a green diamond by it.
Why can't I choose other fonts?

Hi, Doug -
First - please send emails to xemacs-beta(a)xemacs.org. It's more
likely that someone on the list will be able to help you.
Second - is vhdl in your load-path? You said that VHDL mode is not
added, but it sounds to me like your customizations are not working.
I think you need to add your hook to the vhdl mode. I don't use VHDL
mode, but I think something like this needs to be added to one of your
startup files:
(add-hook 'vhdl-mode-hook 'my-vhdl-mode-hook)
I don't know what the real name of the vhdl-mode-hook is - I took a
guess. Take a look at the vhdl-mode documentation to see if I guessed
right.
If my shot in the dark doesn't help, please use M-x report-emacs-bug
to send a full bug report to xemacs-beta. That will tell us what we
need to know to diagnose your problem.
Regards,
Vin Shelton

I already changed this in my local copy of the ebuild (still to hit the
portage tree) and saw no problems, but it's good to get official
confirmation on that.
Thanks,
