But, again, I also have cygwin installed on that system. Ok, just to eliminate all the cygwin question, I just tried it in a fresh XPPro (32-bit) under vmware. I get the exact same behavior. New Final(?) Setup Kit for XEmacs 21.4.18 for MS Windows 19 years, 10 months

Greetings, I have copied the latest (and final, I hope) 21.4.18 setup kit to ftp.xemacs.org. You can download it from: ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/windows/testing/XEmacs Setup 21.4.18-test5.exe . Changes: 1. Cleaned up the script which generates the kit a little. 2. Removed general-docs package. 3. Set package-get-package-index-file-location to point to the installed version of package-index.LATEST.gpg. This makes using the package-ui somewhat easier for fetching any additional packages. Here is the README file: December 15, 2005 This directory holds a Windows-native XEmacs setup kit for XEmacs 21.4.18. Please download the most recent installation kit and try it out. Report your findings to xemacs-beta(a)xemacs.org. When I go into shell-script mode, it doesn't font-lock automatically, even though it does in 21.4.13 using the same init file, on the same box. Is this an expected difference?

Hi, Reference is made to my problem pertaining to time synchronisation on Windows XP system with GPS receiver. It has been personally observed that Windows XP itself doesn't accept the time format when it's told to do so. Calling all XEmacs Windows users - I have copied an XEmacs 21.4.18 setup kit to: ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/windows/testing/Install_XEmacs-21.4.18-te... Please download this setup kit and test it out. This setup kit only supports Windows native mode and includes the following packages: c-support, cc-mode, debug, dired, edit-utils, efs, fsf-compat, general-docs, mail-lib, net-utils, os-utils, pc, prog-modes, sounds-wav, text-modes, time, xemacs-base, xemacs-devel. Please test this out and let me know whether or not this works for you. I built the kit on XP, so I am particularly interested in whether it works on Windows 2000 and earlier. OK, I have just realized that this is a problem that glibc is having. It is intended to mean that the service name is unknown. But I still don't see why (a) it seems like providing a port number as "service" isn't working here and (b) the host name seems garbled in the error message; this suggests to me that the Xemacs -> C interface might be goofed up. Windows: directory-files FILES-ONLY includes ".." 19 years, 10 months

Hi, directory-files includes ".." when given the FILES-ONLY flag: (member ".." (directory-files "~" nil nil nil t)) => non-nil This is with XEmacs 21.4.18 on Windows. 21.5.21 on Linux returns nil. -- René
