Editing specific xml right after start kills xemacs

This bug report will be sent to the XEmacs Development Team,

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
I can repeatedly kill XEmacs with the following odd test case:
1. Start XEmacs. My init files finish with creating a shell buffer.
2. While viewing the initial shell buffer, create another shell buffer
(I use my own package that allows me to create multiple shell buffers).
3. In the shell, change directory to "java/sgs" (a directory off my home directory).
4. Edit file "xml/data.xml".
About the last message I see in the message area is something like
"External entity DATABASE not found" (the root element of the file is "database").
Then XEmacs goes away, very quickly, and I see the following line in the
console where I started XEmacs:
Fatal error: assertion failed, file bytecode.c, line 1477, abort()
I see a lot of information on the console at this time, saying how to try to
track down XEmacs crashes. I can't find a "core" file. I guess you don't get
those in Cygwin?

I didn't want to get into including my init files and my lisp packages, unless
it's really necessary. That will get messy.
If I vary my test case slightly, like using the first shell buffer instead of
creating another one, I'm able to view the file, although I get the following
message in the message area:

Dear Bug Team!
Every time I switch my puter on I see this god ugly screen with a
multi-coloured flag flappin in the breeze and the words "Starting
Microsoft Windows....".
And then a couple of minutes later I see this blue screen saying
something about a "Fatal exception error".
The only thing I can do is to hit the 'reset' button and reboot.

`eicq-start-in-new-frame' is non-NIL, it will delete the frame
that Eicq created during eicq-show-window.
(eicq-start-in-new-frame): New customize option. If non-NIL, Eicq
will start in its own frame.

Wow. The cool thing about days off is that you get to dork around
with whatever catches your eye.
Today, I started using eshell instead of the traditional shell.
Initially, I wasn't that impressed, but when I first typed "grep
net_device *.[ch]" into it and it magically became a M-x grep
invocation I fell in love (cause I'm forever typing into the shell and
then realizing after the fact that I probably wanted something more
sophisticated).
Anyway, just want to say cool package. Thanks.
And if you're still using boring old shell-mode, check out eshell. It
rocked my world.

Problems with cvs.xemacs.org

I think I need an ssh expert. I can't update anymore: for some reason, ssh
doesn't handle my key and asks me for a password. Could this be related to my
recent switch to ssh 2 ?

do you see the same thing if you create 3 or 4 frames using C-x 5 2 and edit

Hi Mr Wing,
I noticed that in xemacs-21.4.4, using a combination of gnuserv,
gnuclient and
lazy lock causes xemacs to use a lot of cpu time. I am running xemacs on
an SGI indy running irix6.5.12.
Here is the detail:
1. I use the sample.init.el from the distribution as init.el. This
has lazy-lock enabled.
2. I start xemacs and then start gnuserv with the gnuserv-start command.
3. I use gnuclient to start editing some files.
For example, gnuclient -q .profile
After the new frames pop up on my screen, I let them sit idle.
When I edit only one file, xemacs uses about 8% of the cpu time.
If I start two gnuclients, the cpu time jumps to about 20%.
If I start a third gnuclient, the cpu time jumps to about 25%.
If I start a fourth gnuclient, the cpu time jumps to about 35%.
If I turn off lazy-lock, then the cpu time remains at about 0.8% no
matter how many gnuclients I use.
If I enable lazy-lock and do not use gnuclients, then each xemacs
process uses
about 0.8% of cpu time.
Since the increase in cpu time is so huge when both lazy-lock and
gnuclients
are used together, I am just wondering if this is a bug.

of tests which are run on all 2**n possible configurations
(with/without widgets, with/without scrollbars, etc. AFAIK, this is
