Yes, I do now remember that I copied hebrew.el from my FSF Emacs leim directory to my xemacs leim
directory. When I try C-u C-\ TAB, I do get the choice "hebrew". When I select it, I get no error
message, but my input does not change (indeed, I tried it at the beginning of this sentence). The
various latin-* methods work fine, as do the cyrillic methods and ipa. I did try installing hebrew and
miscellaneous other fonts from FSF's intlfonts, and this made no difference. Incidentally if I try
"load-file" of .../emacs/20.7/lisp/language/hebrew.elc, as Steven Turnbull suggests, I get the error
message: "Wrong number of arguments: #<subr make-coding-system>, 6".
