Not that bug again. This is actually a Solaris bug (it forgets to ACK the FIN). However ftp.xemacs.org had a work-around patch in its kernel maybe it has been removed for some reason? Jan

XEmacs 21.2.16 "墨田" is released 25 years, 5 months

Get it from the usual places: ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/beta/xemacs-21.2/ http://cvs.xemacs.org/ NB: I put up a patch kit, but it is probably poison. One file in CVS appears corrupted and causes `cvs rdiff' to puke. This release is all bug fixes, 21.2.17 "Chiyoda"/千代田 is scheduled for Friday, June 18. I will try to get out new lisp packages Sumos this weekend. The XEmacs Japanese world tour continues with Sumida, named after Sumida-ku (墨田区), a ward of Tokyo. It is the home of Sumo wrestling, and where last month's tournament took place. It is located adjacent to and to the East of Tokyo Station and Ueno Station. Here's a URL to the approximate location. Problem on lookup with 21.1.15 25 years, 5 months

Hi! I have a problem on lookup package (http://openlab.ring.gr.jp/lookup/) with XEmacs 21.2.15. Making lookup package makes XEmacs to show an error message "Wrong type argument: stringp, nil." Omission or intention ? It is the same omission as in 21.0.67, it has not been fixed in the xemacs.mak file. However AFAIK it does not have the same effects as on Unix, i.e. it is just the version number and the splash screen, the debugging code does not depend on the version number as unix. Jan

efs on NT, beta-logo on NT with 21.1.2 25 years, 5 months

Hi ! Excuse me that I send this questions to xemacs-beta and not to xemacs-nt, but the web-page says about xemacs-nt that it is intended for "porting developers only" - and this I'm certainly not. Instead I will write an article about the now non-beta 21 release, and one exciting feature is of course the Win32-port. Directly related is the first question: "non-beta", really ? When why does XEmacs 21.1.2 on NT greet me with the friendly BETA-logo that has been with us on Unix up to the "release" 21.0.67 ? Omission or intention ? The second question is related to the neverending efs-on-NT-problem: has it ended, finally ? Re-reading the xemacs-nt mailing-list archive I found that J.Harris patches should be in the current efs (and therefore in the efs-package in the current SUMO). However, efs simply hangs for me. I can neither connect to any xemacs-ftp-server/mirror nor to the local ftp-server (using ftp.exe from NT in cmd.exe works). It seems that the connect is made and then efs waits for somethings that it never gets. A third question: what about fakemail ? It seems to me that it is possible to build fakemail on NT, at least with cygwin. What about the native build ? Are there any plans or greater problems ? Any ideas ?
