Since late 1996, the most popular binary kits downloaded from ftp.xemacs.og have been for Linux. The second is based on the number of Linux CD ROM distributions XEmacs appears on. Admittedly, I also have no hard numbers on how many people have installed XEmacs off of Linux CD ROMs.

I just sent myself a local message (using our 8.9.1) and it doesn't do that. I suspect that whatever adds that X-Mailing-List header at xemacs.org does so incorrectly (forgets to insert a CRLF, thus munging the CRLFCRLF sequence that terminates the header ?) Jan

When the very first line of the message is indented, then xemacs.org thinks it is a continuation of the last header. I have put a line at the beginning of my message that should be mashed into the headers. Or not. This is an experiment. So while David's mailer creates ugly MIME (as opposed to Lars' pretty MIME), I don't think that its screwing up the headers. -- Colin

Could you try without it. I think closing the gnuclient frame closes the GPM connection (or "unselects" it). However comments in "select_console" imply there is only _one_ connection. Not one per console. So it should not be unselected as long as there are still "linux console" consoles open. Jan P.S. Aren't all the linux consoles really one console in the XEmacs sense anyway?

I received 2 different mails from David Funk <david(a)jna.com.au> with some strange stuff in the headers field as displayed by Gnus.
