Hi Marc-
I just downloaded the 21.2.10, and shrink-window-if-larger-than-buffer
seems just fine to me. I will admit that I just changed it, but I
don't think that I broke anything. In fact, I made it do its work
more often, rather than less.
Please make sure that the whole buffer is visible ("All" in
minibuffer).
Please give a little more detail as to what you are doing when it is
not working. When there is something about the current window that
the function does not like, it silently does nothing.
If you say that it is never working, I must say that I am at a loss,
and I will try to reproduce it on my Linux box at home.
