The "Installation" file is at the end, after the `gdb' typescript.
This happens consistently on my laptop, which has a 24bpp 800x600
display.
`gdb xemacs'
`set args -geometry 80x35'
`run'
[ Options | Customize | Face... ] default, STATE, show all, INS, type
X, class color, bg dark, ... somewhere in here it will crash when I
click a button. The graphical buttons (Set, Save, ...) have vertical
stripes through them. It looks like it's not working right for 24bit

Here's the `gdb' output, followed by the "Installation" file, and a
typescript of the crash run without gdb, to get the lisp stack trace.
I also ran a `gdb' "where" on that core file.
Hope this helps someone who knows XEmacs inside and out to locate the
problem!

In addition to having some installer install a binary XEmacs, what
about add-on packages? While it would be nice to select packages to
install at install time, what about adding packages after installation
(or upgrading existing ones)? Having to go back to the installation

upgrades.
What if we modified package-get.el to optionally look on a local
disk before trying to download a remote file? If this is done, PC users
could have a CDROM with all of the packages on it. We wouldn't even
have to change the distribution format (e.g., .tar.gz files), as there
are some freely available PC programs that understand .tar.gz files.
[ For example, I've got a WIN32 version of djgpp's djtar (it's compiled
with MS VC++, not djgpp) which extracts .tar.gz just fine. ]
Of course, we'd need subprocesses to work in NT XEmacs. ;-(

This could be solved with a colour scheme adaption by using a private palette
tag withing the png. png allows the user to define his own tags. This does not
break the png for standart viewers, but adds extra info for enhanced viewers
(for example a extinsion which save the formular and edge params of a fractal
to recreate the graphic).

Did you see the "created by XEmacs" logo in the XEmacs distribution
etc/cbx.gif (cbx.png in XEmacs 21)?
