Ar an naoú lá is fiche de mí Deireadh Fómhair, scríobh Stephen J. Turnbull:
I didn't touch Aidan's named branch, but I suppose the same
argument
applies to it:
changeset: 4532:16906fefc8df
branch: bytecomp-coding-system-2008-10-29
user: Aidan Kehoe <kehoea(a)parhasard.net>
date: Sun Dec 21 17:23:06 2008 +0000
summary: Return a list copy in #'built-in-face-specifiers, pre-empting
modification.
(Aidan: To close it, make sure you have a clean workspace (no local
changes or pending merges) and do:
hg update bytecomp-coding-system-2008-10-29
hg commit --close-branch -m "Close branch."
hg update tip
and you should be in business.)
I didn’t create that branch; it happened to be active when I did hg update
one grey and anatomy-filled day back in aught-eight, so I ended up
committing on it. I’ve closed it, and made a commit on the trunk, which has
forced us back to some sort of unity.
I have half the merge of the fixnum change with the unicode-internal branch
sitting on my hard disk, and my dislike of branches in Mercurial is pretty
pronounced at this point. Everything they can do is possible with separate
repositories, as far as I can see, and everyone uses separate repositories,
so very very few people are expert or even competent at manipulating
branches.

described as “an unplanned and accidental public health triumph”, iodine was
added to cattle feed to improve milk production in the 1930s.’
