I need to get the 21.5 kit upgraded to build with either a newer
version of MSVC (a free one) or some flavor of mingw. The latter
will enable us to cross-compile and use our configuration machinery.
Mingw and what it promises sounds cool. Might make it easier to get
our dependencies to libraries up to date too? I haven't tested it
though so who knows?
Using the latest version of free MSVC seems to require a supported
version of windows. So old rusty unsupported XP machines will not do
the trick I guess. So mingw might be a way to get an environment that
could bridge between old machines and newer ones!?
