Yep, this is an issue when built with gcc 4. It's been reported and
pinged earlier too, but not applied nor commented by Vin AFAICT:

This patch has been in the Fedora Extras xemacs package for FC4 for half
a year or so now. Whether Vin chooses this implementation or the one
Enrico sent in April, I don't mind, my [R] stands for either of them as
long as this gets fixed :)
