I don't have time for a proper review for a while but I'll keep it on
my stack. If I have any complaints I'll fix them myself, although I
may ask your advice about keeping texinfmt happy.

opinion about whether it's worthwhile, but "He who does the work makes
the decisions."
Yeah, I thought about this too.
As long as we keep texinfmt.el in the texinfo package I would
recommend holding up the rule that it should be useful for xemacs
itself.
I might even give it a try to build package .info with it, but I would
not be too depressed if that does not work after some easy
adjustments.
Please note that I found two real issues pushing our core .texi
through texinfmt.el, even though they were minor.
