I downloaded the U Mich ldap software and compiled it into xemacs for the first time. While playing around with it (via -vanilla), xemacs crashed. I had set to be nil to get all matches, had eudc search for a first name of "Raymond" from mbb1.ericsson.se. There are probably hundreds of entries, and xemacs said is had processed up to 28 or so and then crashed.
