Hi Peter,
I have done msot structural work on the website in the last year.
You could read up on that (unless you have already done so) at
http://www.au.xemacs.org/About/Website.html
cool will do
It will tell you how to get the sources of the website to your
computer.
will do that tonite
You can send patches based on that.
excellent
I am currently working with SunSITE.dk to hopefully get the
automatic
website update moved there.
SourceForge has left us dead in the water by disabling outbound ssh.
:(
probably has something to do with the breakin a while ago :(
Would you be willing to explore how we could best make your master
websites searchable?
should be pretty easy
will let you know what i come up with
got a couple of questions about doing this
do the xemacs web servers run apache ??
how much control do we have over how they do things ??
ie: can we hack the config files and install extra perl modules on the server
does it run mod_perl ??
if not can we get it to ??
idealy running apache with mod_perl and ability to install extra perl
will make this very easy and very fast as well
(almost as fast as static pages)
and did you know there is an apache module that can serv up web ages
from a cvs server ??
Ideally this should be one design implementable on
http://www.xemacs.org
http://www.dk.xemacs.org
and
http://www.us.xemacs.org
Perhaps we could employ some external search engine like google to
search our master websites as well as our WW mirror sites?
have thought about looking in to that so i will do so and get back to you
