Great! Unfortunately, jde doesn't work very well. In my experience
(mainly from fsfmacs on nt), jde doesn't respond well at all to
byte-compiling. As you probably noticed, you get tons of warnings when
byte-compiling, and lots of runtime errors (due to unexpanded macros
at compile time).
Fixing jde to byte-compile cleanly is probably very hard, so I guess
you have two options: either skip compiling altogether (which seems to
be what the author recommends), or make sure you load all the source
files into xemacs before compiling (to make sure macro definitions are
in place).
Yeah, I had great problems getting the previous version to compile cleanly,
I think this can usually be sorted out be getting the dependencies right.
If you look at the previous Makefile I think I did this.
