The bottom line is that efs-guardian.el in the currently released EFS
doesn't work. The good news is that I've rewritten large portions of
that file for the next release with the help of an external tester,
but it's still not done. (Guardian has some nasty properties which
make it especially hard to make it work with EFS/XEmacs.)
If you're willing to help debug, I'd be happy to send you the current
development sources. However, the greatest help would be if I could
access a Guardian host ftp server for a limited time. (A weekend
would probably be enough.) In that case, I'm sure I'd get the job
done very quickly.
