simply starting XEmacs results in a splash screen with the *scratch*
tab displayed. As soon as the timer expires and splash screen 2
appears, the tab goes away. Changing focus away from the window also
causes the tab to disappear. None of `recenter', `redisplay-frame', or
`redraw-frame' gets it back, nor does clicking in the gutter.
I'm guessing this is an issue with the way I'm using specifiers in the
gutter, rather than a bug in the tab widget.
There's also this anomoly:
This is currently a feature. Dynamic layouts mean that the tab widget can
tell XEmacs how much space it needs, thus it is always just large enough to
contain the tabs. I think I need to extend things so that you can specify
widths as lisp functions thus it could be picked up dynamically from the
gutter size.
