Yes. Your XEmacs warranty is null and void if you use XEmacs on the

You probably should install libncurses.so.4. XEmacs has been fairly
stable against ncurses for a couple years now, so the ncurses version
shouldn't matter to XEmacs, but I believe you need a late-model libgpm
to avoid the suspension bug.
