This exactly was my motivation to make the problems on all platforms
visible via build-report feedback of make check*.

I agree, but Stephen's strong opinions in this field are too much for
me to make at the moment.
Stephen claims to see all the failures.
I wonder what regression failures Stephen is seeing for my platform
and configuration for the new suite he added.
I'll just wait for his report :-)
Off to other ventures for now ...
I'm open for cooperation in this area for 21.4 though, Vin.
