You stay on the branch you first made your checkout from unless you explicitely required a branch change of your working directory by using the -r switch in an update. You can check if you're tied to a particular branch by using the cvs status command on any file in your working directory. This should report something in the sticky status field if you're not on the main trunk. Oscar
