I downloaded (via cvs) and installed the latest version of auctex
(11.14).
However, it doesn't work well with xemacs 21.5.16 (CVS-20040104).
Indeed, when I click on a menu item I get the following message:
Signaling: (wrong-type-argument stringp nil)
I tried this with a Cygwin XEmacs (current CVS) and the menus all worked
fine for me. I was going to try it with a Linux XEmacs, too, but I'm
having some technical difficulties at the moment that might delay that
for an hour or two. In any case, it appears that your problem may be
dependent on configure switches or platform.
Could you try the following? Start a fresh XEmacs, turn on font-lock,
then visit font-lock.el (in the lisp subdirectory of the source tree),
and evaluate font-lock-fontify-pending-extents. Then provoke the
problem with AUCTeX again and see if the Lisp backtrace is any better.
If it is, send it in to xemacs-beta for us to have a look at it.
Thanks,
