Hi Didier,
I'm having a problem with Patcher, patcher-version "3.11", and the
diff command used for ChangeLogs with mercurial. It is set to hg
extdiff. If I'm not mistaken that is supposed to be a user defined
command in .hgrc!? What should I set it to?
I'm having another problem with 3.11 that might be related. The
defaults does not seem to work. I have had to set all properties in
the patcher-projects variable. There is where I set
':change-logs-diff-command "hg extdiff -o -U0 %f"
but I got that from the defaults I think, so it is the right setting?
Or am I shooting myself in the foot and causing my problem myself?
And when I'm at it. With mercurial it is so easy to clone different
work areas. It would be nice if patcher could be applied to the
current folder. So that you don't have to have the folder in the
patcher-projects variable. But maybe that is possible already?

It's an extension. Your hgrc file should contain something like this (I
should probably document this):
[extensions]
...
extdiff =
...

:log-message-items (subject change-logs)
:change-logs-updating automatic
:themes (mercurial xemacs-patches commit))
are you sure you're using the mercurial theme ?
And when I'm at it. With mercurial it is so easy to clone

Yes, I thought the extension extdiff required an external diff program
but I guess just activating the extension as you show is enough. I'll
try that.

I think so but I'll test your settings first. It has been a while
since I set up patcher so I don't remember the details.

Yes. If it is just a patch that I want to put on display I would like
to be able to do that from any workarea. If it is a patch I want to
push I guess using a clone with a fixed name is OK. (This is of course
rather theoretical since I don't regularly push things but I think it
could be useful ;-)

Maybe I did something wrong back den when I tried it before. The
xemacs-patches and commit are marked as illegal themes but it is
something local I guess? Just :themes (mercurial) worked fine.
So it seems I'm finally on speaking terms with patcher! Thanks!
