for `tramp-auto-save-directory' to work properly? Previrusly I have
No. Both variables are independent from each other. I just have seen
that you did configure `tramp-auto-save-directory' for a local
directory; and I did recommend to do the same for
`tramp-bkup-backup-directory-info'.
backup-files backuped just at their original directory, and only the
auto-save files saved localy to speed up Tramp access. I don't like the
idea of save all backup files in some directory, It will cause extra
work when I want to see the
diff-of-the-original-file-aginest-the-backuped-file.
Then you need to reduce the password requests from Tramp. Which access
method do you use? An external method like "scp"? Change it to "ssh".
Or set `password-cache-expiry' to nil.
