I picked this up off of Jitterbug:
Inspite of my locale, and even .Xdefaults settings to koi8-r
character encoding,
XEmacs tries to use iso8859-1, ant if there is no such font in system
-- it
crashes.
My locale is:
LANG=ru_RU.KOI8-R
xemacs (xemacs-21.1.12) with no mule says:
Warning: Cannot convert string
"-*-helvetica-bold-r-*-*-*-120-*-*-*-*-iso8859-*"
to type FontStruct
Warning: Unable to load any usable ISO8859-1 font
Warning: Unable to load any usable ISO8859-1 font
Fatal error (11).
Lisp backtrace follows:
While a crash due to lack of bog-standard free fonts isn't exactly a
showstopper, we really should do something more graceful here.
