This isn't at issue, since the bug in question is in the layer below
Mule.
Yes, but the fix might not necessarily be. The "bug" is simply the
inclusion of Japanese-specific processing in code that gets executed for
everyone.
I'm just saying that wrapping that code in an "(if (featurep 'mule)...)"
is
not an acceptable solution. It sort of sounded like you were advocating
that, since you specifically noted that it was unacceptable for the kinsoku
processing to be happening in a non-MULE XEmacs (with the implication that
it would be OK for it to happen in a MULE XEmacs, even if one wasn't using
Japanese).
