I think it's not appropriate in the unix command instructions. It is they way user input of said key is represented in XEmacs docs and M-x view-lossage represents it the same way. Just hit the Enter/RETURN key instead of typing R E T :-) I'll probably send a patch for 21.5 and recommend it for 21.1 and 21.4.
