Hi,
Any chance of liece being added to xemacs' packages?

liece is a way cool irc-client for Emacsen, which I can
highly recommend.

But it has some incompatibility with XEmacs. I've been inquiring it
for some days but haven't found a way to handle it.
It seems that the text-properties are handled differently in emacs and
XEmacs (i.e. they do include the left char-side by default in XEmacs).
I tried to set it not to do so, but didn't succeed ;-(.
Because of that the colours do not show up right in the erc-buffer
because it does an `open-line' and therefore extends the
text-properties for this line. But it is a great client nonetheless.

Naturally. <http://erc.sourceforge.net/> is probably the most useful.
(If I remember correctly it needs a bit of frobbing before it's working
quite right, moving a defmacro above its first use and adding legible
colours for dark-background users; I'll run a diff and fire that at
xemacs-patches tomorrow. Too exhausted now.)
