'package-get-remove-copy' does exactly what the docs say it does. The problem only crops up if the package download is interrupted and you are left with a partial file in package-get-dir. It could also happen if for some reason a package was released without incrementing its version, but no XPRE worth his salt would ever let that happen.[1] What is needed is a function to clean up after an unsuccessful or interrupted package install.
