You have a Motif build, right? ...

Motif loses. It's possible that either upgrading XEmacs, upgrading
your Motif libs, or getting rid of one or the other of Lesstif and
OpenMotif if you have both installed will make things a lot more
stable.
Otherwise we need a backtrace with debugging symbols (ie, you'll have
to build it yourself most likely, since Red Hat strips the binaries).
You could also try reporting the bug to Red Hat, since it's their
build. They may have some idea what's going on.
