Kevin Oberman <oberman(a)es.net> writes in xemacs-beta(a)xemacs.org:
My battle with the new mailcrypt continue. It insists on popping up a
confirmation window every time I verify a signature. (This makes gnus
with NoCeM pretty useless!)
I read that the new version of mailcrypt had been loaded onto the
ftp
site and I tried to update to it. I now get the error:
ERROR: Header line added to ASCII armor: "Hash: SHA1"
twice and then the signature verification fails.
No. Sorry. The new version has just now been uploaded.
ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/packages/mailcrypt-2.02-pkg.tar.gz
I then tried to update mailcrypt by grabbing the tar file and
installing it. I found it to be version 3.5.3, which is not the
current release. In fact, it appears to be the same as I had
previously. The mailcrypt.el files are dated May 27, 1999 although
there are three files which are dated July 12. In any case, this is NOT
the current version.
Right.
Any idea what happened here? Things seem to be going downhill.
There has been a dummy link on what is supposed to be the signed
version of the package-index file. In the last release, the link was
real. I have backed that off again.
I'm not sure why we can't make this work and I am ready to give up on
PGP signing.
