This looks somewhat similar to the coredump-on-exit bug that Solaris
Motif had; that was definitely a Motif bug IIRC.
What flavor of Motif are you using (Open Motif or Lesstif)? If you
have both installed, you're likely to run into problems (although the
known ones have different symptoms). What Linux distro?

This isn't coming from XEmacs, it's coming from Motif (I assume).
